This page explains how a Kin Folk Tee order travels from our printers to your front door, or to Grandma’s, or to the cabin where the family reunion is happening this year. We have tried to write it the way we would explain it across the kitchen table: what happens, how long each step usually takes, what you can do if something goes sideways, and what we will do to make it right. If anything here is unclear, ask us. A two-line email is always welcome.
1. How long it takes to make your order
Kin Folk Tee does not keep a stack of finished shirts on a shelf. When you place an order, each tee, sweatshirt, hoodie or mug is printed for you, checked, folded or wrapped, and packed. That production step takes 1–3 business days in most cases. Business days are Monday to Friday, not counting US public holidays. An order placed on Friday evening therefore starts moving on Monday.
Production time is separate from delivery time. To estimate when a parcel will reach you, add the production time to the transit time in the table below. For example, a reunion order of eight tees placed on a Tuesday morning for a Texas address would usually be printed by Thursday or Friday and arrive somewhere between the following Tuesday and Friday.
Busy seasons
The weeks before Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas are when families order the most. Printers and carriers both get busier then. We will always tell you on the site or by email if we expect production to take longer than usual, and we would rather give you a realistic date than a hopeful one. If you are ordering for a specific day, read the section on ordering for a date below.
Large group orders
Family reunion and holiday photo orders often include a dozen or more pieces in mixed sizes. Each piece is printed individually, so a large order can take the full 3 business days to finish. If your group order is larger than about 25 pieces, email us before you order so we can confirm the timing honestly.
2. Shipping costs and estimated delivery times
Shipping is free to every country we serve. You will see the free shipping method at checkout after you enter your address. There is no minimum spend and nothing to unlock.
| Destination | Shipping cost | Production | Estimated transit |
|---|---|---|---|
| United States | Free | 1–3 business days | 3–7 business days |
| Canada | Free | 1–3 business days | 7–14 business days |
| Australia | Free | 1–3 business days | 7–14 business days |
| New Zealand | Free | 1–3 business days | 7–14 business days |
Transit times are estimates based on normal carrier performance. Weather, peak holiday volume, customs checks for international parcels and remote or rural addresses can all add time. We cannot control a carrier once the parcel is in their hands, but we do keep watching your order and we will step in if it stalls (see section 7).
Ordering for a date
If a shirt needs to be worn on a specific day, such as a reunion on the third Saturday of July or a birthday dinner, count backwards: the event date, minus the transit estimate for your destination, minus 3 business days of production, minus a few extra days of breathing room. When the result is already in the past, write to us before ordering. We will not promise a date we cannot meet, but we will tell you straight whether it is realistic.
3. Where we ship
We currently deliver to addresses in the United States, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. Orders cannot be placed for delivery to other countries; the checkout will not show a shipping method for them. If you live elsewhere and want to send a gift to family in one of these four countries, that works perfectly: enter their address as the shipping address.
Within the United States we ship to all states, including Alaska and Hawaii. Deliveries to Alaska, Hawaii and US territories can take longer than the mainland estimate. If you need to ship to a P.O. box or an APO/FPO military address, email us first so we can confirm the carrier can deliver there for your order.
4. Tracking your parcel
When your order leaves production, we send a shipping confirmation email to the address you used at checkout. Where the carrier provides tracking, that email includes a tracking number and a link. Tracking can take up to 24–48 hours to show the first scan, so a “label created” status on the first day is normal.
You can also look up the status of an order on our Order Tracking page using your order number and billing email. If you created an account, your order history lives under My Account.
If you ordered several items
Mixed orders, for example two hoodies and a mug, are sometimes printed at different facilities so that each item is made on the right equipment. That can mean more than one parcel and more than one tracking number. You do not pay extra for this, and each tracking number is listed in your shipping emails.
5. Getting the address right
Please double check the shipping address before you place the order, especially when you are sending a gift directly to a relative. Apartment numbers, unit numbers and rural route details are the most common problems we see. A missing apartment number can send a parcel back to us after weeks on the road.
- If you spot a mistake, email us within 24 hours of ordering. If the order has not shipped, we can usually correct the address. See our Cancel or Change Order page for details.
- If the order has already shipped, we will try to help through the carrier, but we cannot guarantee a change in transit.
- If a parcel comes back to us because of an incorrect or incomplete address supplied at checkout, we will contact you. We can reship it once the address is confirmed; if a second shipping charge applies for the new trip, we will tell you before anything is charged.
6. Gifts sent to someone else
Many Kin Folk Tee orders go straight to the person they are for. Use the recipient’s name and address as the shipping address and your own details as the billing address. Shipping confirmation emails go to the email used at checkout, so you keep track of the parcel without spoiling the surprise. If anything needs to be returned or exchanged later, the recipient can contact us, or you can contact us on their behalf with the order number.
7. Late, lost or stolen parcels
Parcels are occasionally delayed or lost. Here is how we handle each case so you know what to expect.
Running late
If your parcel has not arrived and the tracking has not moved, wait until it is 7 business days past the latest estimated delivery date for your country, then email us with your order number. We will open an investigation with the carrier.
Investigation and outcome
Carrier investigations usually take up to 5 business days. If the carrier cannot locate the parcel in that time, we will either reprint and reship your order at no cost or issue a full refund, whichever you prefer. A refund is issued within 7 calendar days of that decision, as described in our Refund Policy.
Marked as delivered but not received
First check around the property, with neighbours, and in any parcel locker or mailroom. Sometimes carriers scan a parcel as delivered a day before it actually arrives. If it still has not turned up after 2 business days, email us within 60 days of the delivery scan. We will contact the carrier and work with you on a fair outcome. If the parcel was taken after a confirmed delivery, we may ask you to file a report with the carrier so that the claim can be processed.
8. Parcels that arrive damaged
Tees and sweatshirts travel well. Mugs need a little more care, and we pack them with protective material for that reason. If anything arrives damaged, misprinted or wrong, please take a photo of the item and the packaging and email us within 60 days of delivery. We will send a replacement or a refund at no cost to you, and you will not have to pay to return a damaged item. Full details are in our Returns & Exchanges Policy.
9. Customs, duties and taxes
Orders to the United States ship domestically, so there are no import duties. Orders to Canada, Australia and New Zealand cross a border. Depending on the order value and local rules, the destination country may charge import duties, taxes or handling fees when the parcel arrives. These charges are set by the destination government, are not included in our prices and are not collected at our checkout. The recipient may be asked to pay them before delivery.
If a parcel is refused because of import charges, it may be returned to us or abandoned by the carrier. Please contact us before refusing a parcel so we can explain your options. If you are unsure what your country charges, your local customs authority can tell you the current thresholds.
10. Packaging and the planet
Printing on demand means we do not overproduce stock that ends up unsold. Garments ship in a mailer that is sized to the order, and mugs travel in a box with protective padding. If you receive more than one parcel for one order, that is because the items were made on different equipment, not because we chose to use extra packaging.
11. A few real situations
“I need fourteen shirts for the reunion on the 20th.”
Collect everyone’s sizes first using our Size Guide, place one order with all sizes, and add the production time plus transit estimate to today’s date. If the result lands within three days of the reunion, write to us before ordering.
“My tracking says delivered, but Mom says nothing arrived.”
Ask her to check with neighbours and the building office, then give it 2 business days. If it is still missing, email us the order number and we will take it from there.
“The hoodie arrived, but the mug did not.”
Mixed orders often travel as separate parcels. Check your shipping emails for a second tracking number. If there is none, or it has not moved in a week, write to us.
12. Questions about shipping
Email support@kinfolktee.com with your order number and we will reply within 1 business day. You can also visit the Help Center, read our FAQs, or open a request on the Submit a Ticket page. Kinfolktee, 208 Wynbrook Dr, Nashville, TN 37221, United States. Please do not send parcels to this address unless we have asked you to; return instructions are always sent by email.
