Order Tracking

Last updated:

To check your order, enter your order number and the billing email you used at checkout, then press “Track”. Your order number is in your confirmation email and starts with a # sign; type just the number.

To track your order please enter your Order ID in the box below and press the "Track" button. This was given to you on your receipt and in the confirmation email you should have received.

Tracking at a glance

  • Every order is printed for you first: “Processing” for 1–3 business days is normal.
  • When your order ships, we email tracking where the carrier provides it.
  • Estimated transit after shipping: about 3–7 business days in the US; about 7–14 business days to Canada, Australia and New Zealand.
  • No movement 7 business days past the latest estimate? Email support@kinfolktee.com.

Where to find your order number

Your order number appears in three places:

  • the subject line and top of your order confirmation email, sent from Kin Folk Tee right after checkout;
  • the “Thank you” page you saw after paying;
  • your order history under My Account, if you checked out with an account.

Can’t find the email? Search your inbox, spam and promotions folders for “Kin Folk Tee”. If you still cannot find it, email us with the name and email used at checkout, and we will look the order up for you.

Why the billing email matters

The tracking form asks for the billing email so that only the person who placed the order can see its details. If you ordered a gift and the recipient wants to track it, forward them the shipping email, or let them contact us with the order number.

What each order status means

Here is what you might see, and what you need to do at each stage. Most of the time the answer is “nothing at all”.

Order and delivery statuses explained
Status What it means What you should do
Pending payment We have not received confirmation of payment yet. Complete payment. If you were charged, email us before paying again.
Processing Paid. Your items are being printed, checked and packed (1–3 business days). Nothing. Need a change? Email within 24 hours of ordering.
Completed / Shipped Your parcel has left us and is with the carrier. Use the tracking link in your shipping email.
In transit The carrier is moving your parcel toward you. Watch the estimate. Gaps of a few days between scans are normal.
Out for delivery The parcel is on the vehicle for delivery today. Make sure someone can receive it, or that it can be left safely.
Delivered The carrier recorded delivery. Not there? Check around the property and with neighbours, then wait 2 business days.
Delivery exception A problem such as an address issue, weather, or customs. Read the carrier note and email us with your order number.
Cancelled The order was cancelled by you or us. Look for the refund email; refunds are issued within 7 calendar days.

Why “Processing” can last a few days

Kin Folk Tee does not keep finished shirts and mugs on shelves. Each item is printed after you order, inspected and packed. That takes 1–3 business days for most orders, a little longer for very large family orders, and sometimes longer in the weeks before major holidays. Business days are Monday to Friday, excluding US public holidays, so a Friday evening order begins its count on Monday.

When tracking appears

Once your parcel is handed to the carrier, we email you a shipping confirmation. Where the carrier provides tracking, the email includes the tracking number and a link to the carrier’s tracking page. It is common for a new tracking number to show “Label created” or “Pre-shipment” for 24–48 hours until the first scan at the carrier’s facility. That does not mean anything is wrong.

More than one tracking number

If your order includes different product types, for example a hoodie and two mugs, the items may be printed at different facilities and shipped separately. Each parcel has its own tracking number, listed in your shipping emails. One parcel arriving before another is normal for mixed orders.

Estimated delivery times

Estimated time from order to delivery
Destination Printing and packing Transit after shipping Typical total
United States 1–3 business days 3–7 business days 4–10 business days
Canada 1–3 business days 7–14 business days 8–17 business days
Australia 1–3 business days 7–14 business days 8–17 business days
New Zealand 1–3 business days 7–14 business days 8–17 business days

These are estimates, not guarantees. Weather, holiday peaks, customs checks and rural addresses can add time. Full details are on our Shipping & Delivery page.

If your parcel is late or lost

If the tracking has not moved and it is now 7 business days past the latest estimated delivery date for your country, email us with your order number. We will open an investigation with the carrier, which can take up to 5 business days. If the parcel cannot be found, we will reprint and reship your order at no cost or refund you in full, whichever you prefer. A refund is issued within 7 calendar days of that decision; see our Refund Policy.

If tracking says delivered but you cannot find it

  1. Check around the property: porches, side doors, garages, behind planters and in mailboxes.
  2. Ask neighbours and, in apartment buildings, the front desk or mailroom.
  3. Check for a parcel locker notice or a carrier card.
  4. Wait 2 business days; parcels are sometimes scanned as delivered a little early.
  5. Still missing? Email us within 60 days of the delivery scan with your order number, and we will work with the carrier on a fair outcome.

Delivery exceptions and what they usually mean

A “delivery exception” sounds alarming, but most are routine and resolve within a day or two. Here are the common ones we see on Kin Folk Tee parcels.

Address problem

The carrier could not match the address, often because an apartment, unit or suite number is missing. Email us straight away with the full correct address. We contact the carrier and, where possible, update the delivery instructions. To avoid this, double-check the address at checkout, especially when sending a gift to a relative’s apartment.

Nobody available to sign or receive

Some deliveries need someone present, or the carrier decided it was not safe to leave the parcel. Look for a notice with redelivery or pickup instructions. Most carriers hold a parcel at a local facility for a limited time before returning it, so act quickly.

Weather or operational delay

Storms, holiday volume and network disruptions slow parcels down. There is usually nothing you need to do; the parcel continues once conditions improve. If the delay goes past 7 business days beyond the latest estimate, contact us.

Held at customs (Canada, Australia, New Zealand)

International parcels can wait for customs clearance. If duties or taxes are due, the carrier may contact the recipient for payment before delivery. Please contact us before refusing a parcel because of import charges; a refused international parcel may never come back to us, which makes any refund or reship much harder.

Returned to sender

If a parcel is on its way back to us, usually because the address could not be completed, we will email you when it arrives and arrange a reship once the address is confirmed. If a second shipping charge applies, we will tell you before charging anything.

Tracking a gift sent to someone else

Shipping emails go to the email address used at checkout, which keeps a surprise intact. You can follow the parcel yourself and let the recipient know when it is due. If the recipient needs to talk to the carrier, forward them the tracking link. For a size problem after delivery, either of you can contact us to exchange within 60 days; see the Returns & Exchanges Policy.

Tracking a large family order

For reunion and holiday orders with many pieces, items may be split across several parcels so that each product is printed on the right equipment. Keep every shipping email in one place and tick off parcels as they arrive. If one parcel is still missing after the others have arrived and its tracking has stopped moving, email us with the order number and that parcel’s tracking number. Because shirts for an event often have a deadline, mention the event date and we will prioritise your enquiry.

Tips to help your parcel arrive smoothly

  • Use a complete address. Include apartment, unit, suite or lot numbers, and the full postcode. For rural routes, add the house number the carrier uses.
  • Ship where someone can receive it. If the recipient works long hours, a workplace address or a trusted neighbour can save a missed delivery, as long as the carrier delivers there.
  • Watch your inbox. Shipping emails sometimes land in spam or promotions folders. Mark our emails as safe so updates reach you.
  • Check the estimate before an event. If a reunion or birthday is close, compare the delivery estimate with the date and talk to us early if it looks tight.
  • Keep tracking emails until everything arrives. They make any investigation much faster.

Common tracking questions

“My tracking has not updated for three days. Is it lost?”

Probably not. Parcels often travel between facilities without a new scan, especially on longer international legs. Unless it is 7 business days past the latest estimate, give it a little more time.

“The tracking link says the number is not found.”

New tracking numbers can take 24–48 hours to activate in the carrier’s system. Try again the next day. If it still is not recognised after two business days, email us.

“Can you speed up my order?”

We do not offer paid express shipping at the moment, and every order goes out with our free shipping method. If you have a firm date, tell us and we will give you an honest view of whether it can be met.

Need to change something?

If your order is still in “Processing” and you placed it within the last 24 hours, you may still be able to change the size, colour or address, or cancel it. Email us immediately; details are on our Cancel or Change Order page. Once an order shows as shipped, items cannot be changed, but you can return or exchange them after delivery.
