Wear your people
Every family has its own language. There is the nickname nobody outside the family understands, the dish that only one aunt is allowed to bring to Thanksgiving, the grandpa joke that has been told at every birthday since 1987. Kin Folk Tee exists to put a little of that language on things you can wear and hold: a tee for the reunion photo, a sweatshirt for the mom who is always cold, a mug that sits next to Grandma’s crossword every morning.
Our name says what we are about. “Kin” and “folk” are old words for the people you belong to, and a tee is the most everyday piece of clothing there is. Put them together and you get the idea behind the shop: ordinary clothes that carry the feeling of belonging. Our motto, “Wear your people”, is simply that idea in three words.
What we make
The Kin Folk Tee range is built around a handful of products that families actually use, each printed with designs about family roles and family life.
- T-Shirts are the heart of the shop: unisex graphic tees for every branch of the family tree, from new dads to great-grandmas.
- Sweatshirts & Hoodies carry the same designs onto warmer layers for porch evenings, football Saturdays and long winter car rides.
- Mugs & Drinkware bring the family to the breakfast table.
- Home & Gifts are small pieces that live around the house.
- Family Matching sets are designed to be worn together for reunions, vacations and holiday card photos.
If you would rather start with the person than the product, our Shop by Family section groups designs by who they are for: Mom, Dad, Grandma, Grandpa, kids and couples.
How your order is made
Kin Folk Tee works on a print-on-demand model. That means we do not order thousands of shirts, guess which sizes will sell and then throw away what does not. Instead, every piece is printed after you order it.
- You choose. Pick the design, product, colour and size for each person. One order can mix as many sizes as your family needs.
- We print. Your item is printed on a fresh blank in the USA. Printing and packing usually take 1–3 business days.
- We check. Each print is looked over before it is packed. A crooked print or a smudge is caught here rather than in your living room.
- It ships free. Your parcel goes out with free shipping to the US, Canada, Australia or New Zealand, and you get a shipping email with tracking where the carrier provides it.
Printing on demand has a few honest trade-offs. It takes a little longer than grabbing a shirt off a shelf, and because each piece is made for you, we ask you to request any changes within 24 hours of ordering. In return, there is far less waste, a much wider choice of designs and sizes, and every item is fresh when it reaches you.
What makes a Kin Folk Tee design
We keep a few rules for every design we publish:
- It has to sound like a real family. We write the way people talk at the kitchen table, not the way slogans are written in an advertising meeting.
- It should work for more than one kind of family. Blended families, bonus parents, adoptive families, chosen family, grandparents raising grandkids: all of them are kin.
- It must be original. We do not borrow sports team logos, cartoon characters, celebrity faces or other people’s artwork. Our Intellectual Property Policy explains why.
- It should still look good in a group photo. We think about how a design reads from across a backyard, not just up close on a screen.
- It should be kind. Family humour can tease, but it should never make someone the punchline in a way that hurts.
Who shops with us
Most of the people who order from Kin Folk Tee are buying for someone else. A daughter sending a sweatshirt to her mom across the country. A grandson ordering mugs for both grandparents so nobody has to share. A family organiser collecting twenty sizes for the reunion and hoping the cousins replied to the group text. A couple choosing matching tees for a pregnancy announcement. We design the shop around those moments: clear sizes, free shipping, plain policies and a 60-day window, because gifts do not always fit the first time.

The moments families shop for
Looking back over what people ask us about, a family year has a rhythm. Here is how our customers tend to use the shop through the seasons.
| Moment | What people usually order | Our tip |
|---|---|---|
| Mother’s Day and Father’s Day | A tee or sweatshirt for Mom or Dad, often with a matching mug | Order early: these are our busiest weeks |
| Summer reunions and vacations | Family Matching sets in many sizes | Collect sizes before you order, then check the list within 24 hours |
| Grandparents Day and birthdays | Grandma and Grandpa designs, mugs | Mugs are the safest gift when you are unsure of a size |
| New baby news | Big brother, big sister and new grandparent designs | Kids grow quickly; a size up is rarely a mistake |
| Holidays and holiday cards | Coordinated tees and sweatshirts for the photo | One colour reads best in big group photos |
Ordering for a big family group
Reunion orders are some of our favourites, and some of the trickiest. A few things make them easier. Ask everyone for their size in writing, not from memory. Send the Size Guide link with your request so people measure rather than guess. Put the whole group in one order so it ships together, and forward the confirmation to the family chat so mistakes can be fixed inside the 24-hour change window. If your group is very large or your date is close, write to us before ordering and we will give you an honest view of the timing.
Why we keep the range focused
We could put family designs on almost anything. We choose not to. A smaller range of tees, sweatshirts, hoodies, mugs and a few gifts means we know each product well, can describe it accurately and can stand behind it. When we add a new product type, we will only do so once we are confident it meets the same standard, and we will describe its materials and care on the product page rather than in vague marketing words.
A word about “family”
When we say family, we mean it broadly. Some of our customers grew up in big, loud households; others built their family later in life from friends, neighbours and partners. Some are stepparents finding their footing, some are foster parents, some are aunts and uncles doing most of the raising. Our designs try to leave room for all of them, and if you ever feel a design leaves someone out, tell us. Those messages shape what we make next.
Looking after what you buy
A family tee should last through more than one reunion. To keep prints looking good, wash garments inside out on a cold, gentle cycle, skip the bleach, and tumble dry on low heat or hang them to dry. Do not iron directly over the print. For mugs, follow the care notes on each product page, as dishwasher and microwave guidance depends on the specific mug. If a print cracks or peels after only a few careful washes, that is not normal wear, and we want to hear about it.
Sizing without the guesswork
Buying clothes for someone else is the hardest kind of clothes shopping. Our Size Guide walks you through the simplest reliable method: lay a garment that already fits the person flat on a table, measure it, and compare. Unisex tees fit a little straighter than women’s cuts, and sweatshirts and hoodies have less stretch than tees, so we explain how to choose between two sizes for each. And if a size still misses, the 60-day exchange window is there for exactly that reason.
Where we are
Kin Folk Tee is the shop name of Kinfolktee, based at 208 Wynbrook Dr, Nashville, TN 37221, United States. We are an online shop, so this is a business address rather than a store you can visit, and returns should only be sent to the address we give you by email. The fastest way to reach us is always email: support@kinfolktee.com.
How we handle mistakes
Printing thousands of individual items means that, once in a while, something will go wrong. A print might land a little off-centre, a parcel might get crushed, a size label might be wrong. We do not pretend that never happens. What we promise is a fast, fair fix: send a photo, and we will replace or refund the item without making you jump through hoops. Most of these are resolved in a single email.
What we will not do
Trust is built as much by what a shop refuses to do as by what it does. So, for the record: we will not show you fake countdown timers or “only 2 left” messages on made-to-order items. We will not invent reviews or pay for glowing ones. We will not add payment logos for methods that are not actually available at checkout. We will not sell your information. And we will not hide our return policy in small print.
Say hello
Have a family saying you would love to see on a shirt? A question about a reunion order? Feedback about something we got wrong? We read every message. Write to support@kinfolktee.com, open a request on the Submit a Ticket page, or browse our FAQs and Help Center for quick answers. When you are ready to shop, start with everything in the shop.
